Sound Studio
The sound bar, a transformation of an office space into a revamped sound mixing studio. Following an introductory meeting with the client, the preference was to take inspiration from a traditional majlis.
The challenge now was to take design elements from a traditional majlis and twist it into a more modern design and feel. The color scheme derives from the Sadu pattern with the main color being a soft beige while the accent colors consist of reds and greens. Further into studying the precedent, triangular and diamond shapes begin to dominate the design through the acoustic panels on the walls and ceiling. It becomes noticeable that the colors are more concentrated on one end of the room and begin to blend out into a full beige finish. An abrupt placement of hidden LED lights further intensifies this effect.
The design intent was to create a juxtaposition of modern and minimal design trends against the traditional and strong colored characteristics found within a majlis setting. Finally, lighting strategies have been carefully thought out to highlight the design as well as workspace surfaces for visual clarity while avoiding any glaring thus creating a visually pleasing and comforting workspace.
