Jellybean
Inspired by Akari light sculptures, Jellybean takes to interpret different kinds of soft. This includes, softness of form, light, and the space between. The lamp is designed to be easily assembled and disassembled in straight forward in simple steps. The design consists of 3 main horizontal frames, these are held together by a series of vertical elements. Next, a fabric of choice is draped over the body and fixed into place with a simple clipping system. Finally, exterior vertical elements are placed on top of the fabric to create a beautiful iteration of a pull and push notion against the fabric. All elements of the lamp are 3D printed in a translucent material to intensify the softness of the transition of light. To further intensify this effect, the vertical elements are designed to have a concave core to create a soft gradient in the way that the light passes through them, whether they are placed behind or over the fabric.
